NYC Comic Con is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and in honor of their partnership with Brooklyn Brewery, we wanted to share with you our Superhero Beer Lineup of Brooklyn Brewery beer:
Brooklyn Defender IPA
The official beer of New York City Comic Con 2015, this was aptly named to showcase every Superhero's mission to defend the innocent. Why not reward themselves with a Brooklyn Defender IPA, a red IPA "takes on a reddish twist from a dash of roasted malt. Bold, fruity hop bitterness and an intensely resinous nose lead the way into a dry finish that blazes the trail for your next sip."
Brooklyn Sorachi Ace
Since Gambit from X-Men is known for slinging weaponized Aces at his enemies, the Brooklyn Sorachi Ace would be his drink of choice.
"Brooklyn Sorachi Ace is a classic saison, an unfiltered golden farmhouse ale, with a clean malt flavor and the quirky Sorachi Ace hop standing front and center. Dry-hopping releases Sorachi Ace’s bright, spicy aromatics to tickle the nose before ascending into a fine harmony between pilsner malt and playful Belgian ale yeast."
When you think of Superhuman powers, the ability to shoot laser beams and blast bad guys to ashes come to mind (Blast! was actually a British comic book in the early 90's). For Brooklyn Brewery, their BLAST! is a Double IPA that "lends solidity, balance and bready flavors to brace up a beer that’s beautifully hoppy, strangely quaffable and oddly compelling".
Brooklyn American Pale Ale
If Captain America had his choice, he'd pick the Brooklyn American Pale Ale to drink after every personal victory over HYDRA. This smooth pale ale is "a vigorous dry hopping of Amarillo punches up the aroma with the herbal, piney scents that are a hallmark of U.S. pale ales. Crisp, clean malt and a gentle bitterness leaves you feeling refreshed and thirsty for more."
Brooklyn Scorcher IPA
You know the Human Torch could use a cold one every now and then - what better beer to choose then the Brooklyn Scorcher IPA. A great beer to be paired with "spicy foods, salads, grilled meats, cheddar, and feta", this session IPA has a "floral, piney aroma [that] strikes first, followed by a burst of mouthwatering bitterness as the hops begin their attack. Suddenly, a hint of toasty malt and a clean, lively finish burst in to leave you thirsty for more."
Brooklyn Post Road Pumpkin Ale
Every Hero story needs an equally compelling villain and for the Brooklyn Post Road Pumpkin Ale, we thought super-villain Jack O'Lantern would be the perfect match for this beer. For this colonial style pumpkin ale, "hundreds of pounds of pumpkins are blended into the mash of each batch, creating a beer with an orange amber color, warm pumpkin aroma, biscuity malt center, and crisp finish."
